We are slowly making it through the month of January.

Some of us have seen our first sights of snow whilst for others, this is not the case.

5 Tips for your Garden this January

Snowdrops
Whether you have some in your own garden or like to look for them when you are out and about.  There is something delightful about spotting these delicate flowers appear when it is not so tempting to go outside.  If you do have some in your garden, thick clumps can be divided every few years.

Pruning
It is not too late to prune apple and pear trees if you have not already had the opportunity to do so.  You can take this opportunity to reshape your apple/pear tree or simply remove any overgrown branches. If you have roses, you can prune by cutting each stem back to the lowest, outward-facing bud.

Winter Planter
The garden may be a little bereft of colour at this time of year, but a winter garden container is an option for a little burst of joy.  Garden containers planted up with cyclamen can brighten your front door step or patio.  Cyclamen can even be planted up in borders if you have the space.

Mower Service
Do you remember the last time you had your lawn mower serviced?  If not, now may be a good time to have it serviced ready for when you will be using it on a regularly basis again.

Thoughts of Summer
Whilst the days are very gradually getting longer, it is nice to look forward to when we can enjoy our gardens more.  When thinking about the spring and summer months, you may be considering ways to improve the use of your garden.  If this is the case, take a moment to consider a Lanai louvered roof canopy.  This canopy has remote control operated blades which when open, allow the sun light in, however when closed, keep out the rain.  Take a moment to view the details on our website by clicking here.
